FunZone is our before and after school program. We pick up from many schools in Fort Collins and bring them back to our program space for awesome enrichments and field trips. We believe in kids getting a break after school and some downtime. Young Peoples Learning Center was named after its philosophy was developed. “Young Peoples” was chosen to accentuate equality between children and adults. The rights and desires of adults are comparable to those of children; the right to be respected, the right to express feelings and opinions, the right to be heard and responded to, the right to independence, the right to choose, and the right to be seen as an individual. “Learning Center” was chosen because your child will learn and grow socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually through the many activities and situations presented to him/her – dramatic play, books, manipulative toys, block play, cognitive learning games, large muscle exercise, creative art, craft projects, puppets, science experiments, field trips, group time discussions, baking projects, social interactions, eating experiences, etc. These various experiences will enable your child to become an independent and positive person ready to succeed in the lifelong learning process. We are now accepting reservations for school field trips. Field trips are available Monday through Friday, October 1 - 31 Most of our trips are for preschool to second grade. For higher grades, middle school to high school, we are able to offer a trip that would be more advanced and cover topics like water, soil health, and regenerative farming principles. Most groups spend about 1 to 1 1/2 hour for the total visit. Large groups will be broken down into smaller groups for touring. We do have some tent space for groups wanting to have lunch or snack. Please let us know if you plan this. We will be open regardless of weather. We have many students scheduled to visit. It is important that groups arrive on time. If you have schedule difficulties call Bob on cell phone at 303-931-1591 so we know you are running late. This is an outside activity and students should come dressed for the day's weather. We will be walking on grass and fields which may be wet or muddy. We will conduct a 20-30 minute tour where we will see and talk about tractors and harvest equipment, animals ( calves, sheep , goats, chickens, and rabbits) and their use on the farm, and how pumpkins, squash and corn are grown. Questions are encouraged. After the tour students can form small groups with the teachers and parents. They can go through the straw bale maze, corn maze or go back to look at any of the things covered on the tour. We will give each student a bag with their pie pumpkin on the way out. The teacher can pick out one big pumpkin for the class. (less) ... Read more

Chores made easy.... That's a great idea!! Kids want to be responsible; they want to have a purpose and independence, but somehow us parents made it ok for them to forget those very same values we were raised with. If there were a way to create a craving in children to do their chores, wouldn't you want to experience that for yourself? It's like a snowball that starts out as an awkward shy kid that gets nudged down the mountain. One cycle at a time getting bigger, stronger, and gaining momentum to make smart choices, and take care of themselves because they've learned just how great that feels, for themselves. We're not saying our apps are magic, but from day one the goal has been the same. Help families work together. Help kids find energy in being responsible and taking control in productive ways. They need it... The world is really complicated these days but there's nothing more precious than raising kids and having a young family. I know I personally miss those days. Kids are growing up in a time and space that we have yet to truly understand but one thing is certain, technology has a grip on every generation these days so we should learn to embrace, and how best to use it. Download the app for free. Give it a try and if you don't love it just let us know why and we'll fix it. (less) ... Read more
