Build it square, build it strong! Build it curved, build it sticky! Build it together, build it big! Build it WOW!
In the revamped Build It WOW! Exhibit, children have the opportunity to learn how different shapes form the basic building blocks of more complicated structures. At different building stations, children can learn about geometry, spatial relationships, balance, and stability. Visitors can also explore different ways objects can connect to each other. While creating, children practice the skills of imagining, planning, executing, and modifying ideas which sets an early foundation for STEM learning.
The Build It WOW! Exhibit is on display through September 2017 and is generously sponsored by Anne M. Larsen, State Farm Agent.

April 3rd School Day Out Art Camp
Students will have a blast in this experimental and process-based class that will show how much science plays a role in art! Lessons are adapted appropriately for each age group and will experiment with safe materials that bubble, blend, separate, and fizz.
To create a sculpture in relief is to give the impression that the sculpted material has been raised above the background. In this class, students will learn fun new ways to create three dimensional works of art for you to admire while still hanging on your wall! Students may use a range of traditional and nontraditional art materials like aluminum foil, clay, junk art and more! Lessons will be adapted to each age group.
Target is committed to giving back to the communities where their guests and team members live and work. Through their generous sponsorship of the Children's Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus, families can play for FREE the first Tuesday* of each month from 4 - 8 pm.

PRESENTED BY PARKER ARTS AND INSPIRE CREATIVE
This charming tale touches the heart - with lots of laughs along the way! It is hard enough for Mr. Popper, a simple painter, to support himself and his family. The addition of twelve penguins makes it impossible to make both ends meet - until Mr. Popper has a splendid idea. He will turn the talented penguins into a traveling vaudeville act! And that's exactly what he does. The entire family will delight in the adventures of Mr. Popper and his "performing" feathered friends.

Mr. Popper is a house painter who dreams of traveling the world - except he doesn't have the money. Instead, he reads magazines about famous people and distant lands. One day, the Popper family tunes in to a radio broadcast by an Admiral Drake, who is exploring Antarctica, and they are surprised. The admiral has actually answered a letter from Mr. Popper! He promises Mr. Popper a surprise in the mail.
Mr. Popper's surprise comes in a big package - it's a penguin named "Captain Cook" who sleeps in the family's freezer. Captain Cook is very playful, if not a little weird (he ate the Popper family's goldfish when he first arrived).Through a series of comical events, Mr. Popper ends up with 12 penguins, and decides to train the penguins to perform in order to help pay for their upkeep.
Soon, "Popper's Performing Penguins" are featured across the country. But in the theater in New York, the penguins cause trouble; what's worse, they've accidentally shown up at the wrong theater! The manager of the wrong theater is extremely angry and has Mr. Popper arrested, along with his 12 performing penguins.
Admiral Drake comes to the rescue, bailing Mr. Popper out of jail. After speaking with Admiral Drake, Mr. Popper decides that show business is no life for a penguin. Drake takes the 12 penguins with him on his expedition to the North Pole, where they will be released into the Arctic.
The Poppers are sad to see the penguins go, especially Mr. Popper himself - that is, until Admiral Drake invites Mr. Popper to accompany him on the trip. The Poppers wave goodbye as Mr. Popper and his penguins sail away toward the North Pole.
