March 27th School Day Out Art Camp
George Rodrigue was an American artist well known for his "Blue Dog" series of paintings. In this class, we'll create our very own blue hued dog in a unique setting. Students will learn about art concepts such as warm, cool, and analogous colors, composition, and foreground, midground and background. Lesson is adapted to each age group.
In this class, we'll celebrate the beautiful flowering tree called the cherry blossom! Students will examine the history and symbolism of the cherry blossom tree and explore depictions in art. Afterwards, we'll create our own artwork inspired by these delicate and transient flowers! Students may use drawing and painting materials. Lessons are adapted to each age group.

Explore how to make things invisible, investigate new nano products and materials, make nano crafts to keep, and launch nano particles with an air cannon! Organized by NISE Net, NanoDays is a nationwide festival of educational programs about nanoscale science and engineering. This special science program is included with Museum admission.

The Space Foundation Discovery Center is preparing to spend spring break with the public by exploring science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) in a week filled with "tinkering" activities.
A variety of activities are planned that are appropriate for children ages 4-8 with an adult helper, and ages 9-17 on their own. The week-long event will wrap-up with the construction of a chain reaction machine, also known as a Rube Goldberg Machine, to be launched at noon on Saturday, April 1.

March 28th School Day Out Art Camp
Dust off your dancing shoes! This class will explore how modern artists like Degas and Matisse, and contemporary performance artists like Trisha Brown and Nick Cave have used dance as inspiration for their artworks in both traditional and experiential ways. We will look at movement, the human figure and perhaps even use our own bodies as tools for creative expression! Classes may use a variety of art materials including drawing, painting, collage or textiles and lessons will be adapted appropriately to each age group.
Students will take a look at the Fauvism art movement and create beautiful, colorful and expressive paintings just like artists from the movement including Henri Matisse and Andre Derain. Students will learn about their wild brush work, strident colors, abstraction and simplification of forms. By the end will understand how they earned their name The Wild Beasts! Lesson is adapted to each age group.
An evening of looking to the stars and discovering the wonders of the universe. This event creates a fun learning environment for the whole family and inspires the next generation of astronomy enthusiasts! All outside activities are free to the public, and discounted admission is available for those wishing to explore the Discovery Center and Science On a Sphere inside.
March 29th School Day Out Art Camp
In this class, we'll celebrate Spring with the color of growth and renewal! Students will examine famous artworks that have centered around this hue and learn about the symbolism behind the color. Students will also learn about complementary and analogous colors and discover the wide range of hues in the green color family. They will then create age appropriate artworks utilizing what they have learned using drawing and painting materials.
Students will create unique artworks using different types of silhouettes. We'll take a look at different artists who have used this subject matter, such as Kara Walker, Banksy, and Magritte and examine the ways silhouettes were used historically and in modern times. Students will learn about positive and negative space and use drawing, painting and collage materials to create their own super silhouettes to take home!
March 30th School Day Out Art Camp
Students will find inspiration in Thiebaud's colorful works depicting commonplace objects - pies, lipsticks, paint cans, ice cream cones, pastries, and hot dogs and have a blast creating their own fun creations. Lesson are adapted appropriately for each age group.
In this class, students will explore a bevy of items that take to the air! Anything from dandelion seeds to birds are fair game, and the day will even culminate with students designing and crafting their own art creation that can fly in the wind such as a kite, windsock, pin wheels, or mobile!
Enjoy a fun and interactive classical music performance by the musicians of the Boulder Bach Festival! Boulder Bach Festival celebrates the music of Johann Sebastian Bach by providing high quality performances and educational opportunities that will not only satisfy those who already love Bach's music, but will also introduce Bach's music to others. Included with Museum admission.

March 31st School Day Out Art Camp
Planets, stars, nebulas, rocket ships and more! We'll travel to the far reaches of our creativity in this class that celebrates the cosmos! Students will use drawing, painting and 3D materials to create unique works inspired by space and beyond. Lessons are adapted to each age group.
Students will learn about different jungle habitats around the world and create artworks inspired by the animals that inhabit them! Drawing, painting or ceramics will be explored in this class depending upon the age.
Denise Gard and her dogs Sienna and Joey have an adventure in Trash Land...Sienna and Joey's favorite toy has been thrown away and they are certain that a monster dwells inside the trash can where it is. Will they be able to rescue it or will it end up in scary "trash land"? Can it be recycled? So many questions! Come join us and see how Denise trains her dogs in this interactive and engaging program, and create your own "recycled" masterpiece to take home with you.
